My name is Mario Madrid and I am the owner and operator of Madrid Engineering, LLC.  I am interested in obtaining civil or structural engineering work in the private sector.  I have 11 years of design engineering experience in civil and structural engineering.  I served as Lead Civil/Structural Engineer with my former employer for over 2 years.  I am a registered Professional Engineer, (P.E. License #16228) having passed the P.E. exam in April of 2003.

My skills have developed to perform all the functions of an engineering design firm, including design drawings, writing specifications, preparing formal calculations, and writing reports.  I am capable of performing all the tasks required of design documents from beginning to end.  I am aware of the necessity to follow local agency codes and their review processes for engineering along with the requirements of various commonly referenced national and state codes and standards.

I have always been a design engineer with every organization that I have worked with since 1997.  I have designed using such codes as ASCE 7 for design forces, ASTM for material specifications, ACI-318 for concrete designs, AISC for steel designs, and IBC for general requirements.  I am skilled at performing tasks by hand or with computer software.  My craft or skill is to take an idea, apply design criteria, and prepare design documents such that the project can be economically built.
